Bush-era national security laws are being legally amplified because national security profiteers are queuing up three new US involved wars: Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. They seek to control the finances and the movements of the US people. Trespassing foreign national migrants seem to be the exception. Mises Institute concluded (paraphrase) this is a cold conflict ursurp by embedded global leftists to commandeer American military force, appropriated during wartime. This is a canard to revoke mass rights and commence with overly broad appropriations for military security on US soil (i.e. martial law). It’s like being a bank floor hostage during an armed robbery.
