EASTBOUND & DOWN: The Border Convoy Emerges from Central Texas
The cloud of weird is coming down from Austin already.
SOUTH AUSTIN - It is a rainy and overcast midday in Central Texas. I just returned from an end-run through San Antonio while merged on roads with a ‘Take Out Borders Back Convoy’.
Traffic on the I-35 southbound from Austin began slowing to a complete crawl at approximately 11 AM today revealing a possible design to “slow the traffic” on the way to the Rio Grande. Local city officials seem to be in on the expression. At the very least they were aware of the 700 vehicle convoy assembly merging onto the I-35, through San Antonio to meet the I-10 East to converge on Quemada, TX this afternoon.
Supporters of the convoy were seen scattered at freeway overpasses and offramps near New Braunfels sporting a variety of flags: Texas State flag, United States flag, and the now renown Come and Take It flag.

I pulled over to discuss current events with a couple of the New Braunfels locals. One resident complained while Greg Abbot is getting a lot of positive national press, there is solid concurrent local complaints that, “He is a globalist.” This is not the first or the last grouse that he should deploy additional National Guard resources, as provided from other US States standing with Texas, to completely seal the border now.
NATIONAL vs LOCAL EDITORIAL PRESS RELAY
Yesterday, Reuters online media, in a suprising turn of events, live broadcasted a completely uncensored conventional prayer at the the opening of the convoy rally in Dripping Springs, TX. For someone who has followed media and political actions at events for years, to witness prayer before events is a fairly common occurrence. However, it is rarely featured in live public media, online or off.
For this nationally represented, yet fair, display of normal Republican assembly expression, local TV news media at Spectrum One made an editorial decision to couch the political event as a “Christian nationalist” mob of aggression using the federal freeway system. Meanwhile, veteran Austin productions at InfoWars alarm-warned of federal agitators before any feds were positively identified.
It only gets weirder as professionalism in local media plummeted in 90 degree angles. A completely junior correspondent reported as “outraged” at the potential for violence for the yet-to-be-seen convergence to an overly-bronzed, Insta-faced twenty-something anchor midday. Viewing publics are still waiting for local and global information reporting at these outlets.
For now, Twitter posts from Texas rally attendees seem to be the best source of real time information on the convergence.
At time of this writing there is no proof of violence from the moving assembly or malign interloping from proven government agitators - yet.
.
Not an attack, but Feds are "bracing" according to Alex Jones.
